Bronx/Uptown Branch Inaugural Meeting

  • Hunter College, West Building, Room 1729 695 Park Avenue New York, NY, 10065

Join us for the inaugural meeting of the Upper Manhattan/Bronx Branch of the Democratic Socialists of America on Wednesday, January 18th at 6:30 PM at Hunter College - West Building (695 Park Ave (entrance is on Lexington Ave/68th St.), Room 1729). Please bring some form of ID if possible.

The Bronx and Upper Manhattan arguably benefit from our city’s diversity more than any other communities. The people of these communities exemplify the breadth of the lived experience in our city, both ethnically and economically.

We are forming Upper Manhattan/Bronx Branch of the DSA in order to act the best way we know how: Organizing ordinary people to achieve goals that concretely and meaningfully improve our communities. Among other issues, we will be coordinating action to institute and strengthen fairer housing policies; stronger protections for immigrants and minorities; environmental justice for areas abused with pollution and neglect; and economic justice through fairer wages, employee protections, and equality of opportunity.

In the coming days, weeks, months, and years, we will have tremendous opportunities to build a kinder and more equal society that provides dignity for all. It will not be easy and we will not prevail overnight, but together, we can and will succeed!
