Join DSA and DivestNY to give NYC's pension boards our demand: Divest From Fossil Fuels Now!

New York City's pension fund currently hold over three billion dollars in fossil fuel investments. The largest city pension fund in the country is supposed to be guaranteeing workers' futures, but instead, it's financing energy companies whose business model is polluting air, poisoning water, and heating the planet. Our pensions should not serve to increase the frequency and severity of hurricanes like Sandy and Harvey.

The Common Investment Meeting (CIM) is a meeting of all five New York City Retirement Systems at which the Systems’ performance is reported and decisions about investments and initiatives are made. Join as we ask them: What kind of retirement can city employees expect if our city starts flooding every year? What kind of pension fund would make Earth unlivable for all but a few well-funded bosses?

***THE DEMONSTRATION BEGINS AT 8:15 AM, SO MAKE SURE TO GET THE MORNING OFF FROM WORK IF NECESSARY!***
