NYC-DSA Immigration Justice Working Group will be teaching the third Spanish for Socialists class this coming Sunday, on the subject of housing and tenants' rights. While Immigration Justice is organizing this class, all are encouraged to come, especially if this is your first Spanish for Socialists class!

We will be holding the class at the Holyrood Episcopal Church in Washington Heights, where a Guatemalan family have been living in sanctuary to fight a deportation order. DSA members have been involved in supporting these sanctuary efforts, and the church is as a space for political community engagement, led by the leftist activist Reverend Luis Barrios.

The Spanish-language service is at 1pm, so if you would like to go to that as well, some of us are going to attend the service and then spend the intervening hours hanging out in Fort Tryon park before the class. Please join us!

Also, in lead-up to the class, please listen to the song "Techos de Cartón" by Ali Primera, a Venezuelan musician and activist. The link and lyrics can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9wzCtES_m6VWkx1NllJYVRaeTg - please come prepared to discuss and review the relevant vocabulary.
