Film Screening: Salt of the Earth

  • Mayday Space 176 Saint Nicholas Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11237 United States (map)

North Brooklyn DSA is screening the 1954 film Salt of the Earth, the only film ever blacklisted in America. Salt of the Earth tells the story of Mexican workers at a zinc mine who go on strike for racial and economic justice. The film is a depiction of worker and community solidarity and a challenge to sexism women confront at home and on the picket line.

The film will be shown from 6:45 to 8:15 pm. We'll have beer by donation and optional time to discuss the film from 8:15 to 9:00 pm. Everyone's welcome!
