On November 30th, at 12pm, the City Council will vote on the Bedford-Union Armory project, the terms of which have been decided on through backroom meetings. Although we have won an increase in affordability of the project from 50% to 60% and the riddance of luxury condos, we will not back down on our commitment to 100% affordability and we are asking Council Member Laurie Cumbo, who ran her campaign on the promise of 100% affordability, to do the same.
The project as it stands in its final form is still an egregious giveaway of public land for private profit and the project is still completely silent on labor rights and protections for its construction. November 30th is our last chance to hold Laurie Cumbo accountable and demand that she#KillTheDeal.
