For this meeting we're going to hear from the candidates running for Tech Action OC. We are expanding the size of the OC to seven members in order to increase our organizational capacity. Candidates will have a chance to tell you their political and organizational ideas for Tech Action, and will respond to a moderated set of questions. Because the organizing committee is both administrative and political, this is a chance to take part in the democratic process determining the direction that Tech Action will take in the coming year.
Whether or not you're eligible to vote, if you're interested in the intersection of technology and socialism, we encourage all members to participate in this discussion!
Before the forum, in the coming days, we will send out statements from the candidates. After the forum, we will open online voting to Tech Action's general membership. In order to be eligible to vote, you must be a dues paying member of the DSA, and have attended two Tech Action meetings (this upcoming meeting will count towards that total). If you are not currently a dues-paying member of the DSA, you can sign up here: nyc-dsasocial.media/join-dsa
