On Thursday 1/18, the landlord colluded with the City to carry out a mass eviction of 85 Bowery's low-income tenants. This comes only weeks after New York State’s Division of Housing & Community Renewal (DHCR) ruled in favor of the 83-85 Bowery tenants that the buildings be rent stabilized.
The eviction took place because the City found the building unsafe and ruled that repairs are necessary. The City set a time limit of two weeks to complete the repairs.
Join us this Friday to hold HPD accountable and let them know time’s up! Demand HPD immediately complete the repairs, and make sure the tenants return to their homes and normal lives as soon as possible!
