The Central Brooklyn Debate and Deliberation Subcommittee will host a discussion on “The Working Class and the DSA” on September 17th at Repair the World -- 808 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn -- from 7-9 PM. 

Agenda:
Section 1: People’s personal journeys and definitions section -- 30 minutes
What is your personal definition of the working class? -- 10 minutes
What are the personal, political, and intellectual experiences by which you arrived at your definition? -- 10 minutes
How does class and class identity relate to other dimensions of your identity such as race and gender? -- 10 minutes
Reportbacks -- With a time limit per reportback per group -- ~ 3-5 minutes? -- 15 minutes total
Section 2: Theoretical and strategic definitions -- 30 minutes
Why do you think we, or why should we, care about the working class as socialists? -- 10 minutes
What do you think are the best strategies by which DSA can engage with and help the Working Class?- 10 minutes
Where do you see the strategic weight of engaging with the Working Class alongside other activities of the DSA - do you see engaging with the working class movement as the prime mover in our organization or just one of many intersecting movements with equal weight? -- 10 minutes
Reportbacks -- With a time limit per reportback per group -- ~ 3-5 minutes? -- 15 minutes Concluding section -- Popcorn responses to the question ‘How did you feel about tonight?’ What did you learn, what excited you, etc with a Progressive Stack and equal time limit per person -- 15 minutes total
Finale -- Sing Solidarity Forever -- 2 minutes
