Please join South Brooklyn DSA Official, the Socialist Feminist Working Group (NYC Socialist Feminists), and the NYC DSA Queer Caucus for a screening of How To Survive A Plague! This documentary takes a look at members of Act-Up and other AIDS activists in the late 1980s as they battle hostility and indifference to bring attention to the disease, try to reduce the number of victims, and lead the drive to find a cure.
The film’s director, Jim Hubbard, will be joining us and after the film we will engage in a short Q&A with him.
$10 dollar suggested donation!
This screening is part of a NYC-DSA-sponsored two film screening series on the activist response to the AIDS crisis. The first screening—of the documentary, How To Survive A Plague —will be on Friday, 1/11, also at 8pm at Cherry Tree Bar.
The event is ADA accessible.
