What is ULURP?

  • NYPL Seward Park Branch 192 East Broadway New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

A short while ago, it was ruled that the four proposed towers in the Two Bridges neighborhood of Lower Manhattan will likely go through the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP). If built, these towers would drastically change the Lower East Side and Chinatown. But what is ULURP? Which officials get a say in the process and who appoints them? Can communities effectively rally against ULURPs? Join us to discuss ULURP history and the six steps of the ULURP process—we'll have veterans from previous battles present to provide crucial insight into what can be expected and the best ways for neighbors to get involved with different struggles unfolding across the city.

Panelists will include: Sam Stein, members of Protect Sunset Park, No New Jails, and Inwood Legal Action.
