The New York Public Service Commission is hosting public statement hearings on the current Con Edison rate case, which we have been organizing around for about 6 months now! Under New York State Law, the Commission must consider a utility's proposal and may adopt or reject it in whole or in part, or adopt changes not proposed by the Company. An Administrative Law Judge will preside over the gathering of public comments and all evidence relating to the proposal. Public statement hearings will be held to obtain comments from the public concerning Con Edison’s proposals.
Hearings will be held in Yonkers and in NYC. The Ecosocialist working group will have a presence at the last of the four hearings: 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 26, at 90 Church Street, 4th Floor Boardroom, New York, NY 10007.
If you would like to testify on Wednesday, the ecosocialist working group is prepared to provide any amount of assistance you want or need in preparation! Email us at email@example.com
Anyone requiring special accommodations at the hearing should call the Department of Public Service’s Human Resources Management Office at (518) 474-2520 as soon as possible. TDD users may request a sign language interpreter by placing a call through the New York Relay Service at 711. Individuals with difficulty understanding or reading English are encouraged to call the Commission at 1-800-342-3377 for free language assistance services.
